How long have you been in business?
The business was started in 1991. It's been under the same management for 20 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Special event planning with an emphasis on comical murder mystery dinner parties.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was an independent contract actor with the company for a couple of years. An opportunity arose where I was able to buy out the original owner. As a kid, I was always reading mystery books (especially the Hardy Boys) and my undergrad degree is in music/theatre. An additional background in business accounting made this the ideal career move!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We incorporate selected audience members to participate by actually playing suspects alongside our professional actors. It makes our production more improvisational, more character driven, and ultimately more fun as the audience provides loads of unexpected laughs. We of course can entertain groups of 100-400 guests, but we can also accommodate intimate groups of as few as 10 people. And we can travel anywhere throughout the US.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have capability for local productions in the Seattle area, Orlando, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. Our next target area is Roanoke, VA.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept personal and corporate checks. We also accept secure credit card payments through PayPal.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The owner and producer is Mark McClenathan.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
"We had such a great time, we want to book you guys again!"

Our goal and company motto is "To make 'me laugh and have a good time!"
