How long have you been in business?
3rd generation family ownership since 1936.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary products are custom made flags and banners along with ready made products that would included United States flags through flagpoles and everything in between. We also offer contract sewing for clients.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I grew up in the business during the early 1970's. I would go into work with my father and do chores around the shop. By the time I started full time during the summers in the 1980's, I knew where my destiny was. I love the fact that we are making items that are in many ways are the first way a company get's recognized by their clients. I love this country and I love our flag and all of its history. It's just a natural to be in this line of work.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are known by the quality of our custom made work. We can't be the cheapest, but if you are looking for the best looking and best quality made flag or banner, then you come to us. That's a reason why Fortune 500 companies order from us, that's the reason high profile museums order from us, and that's the reason we been flagging 2 MLB stadiums for years.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
After 80 years of being located within Chicago, we sold our building in 2016 and moved to the near south suburb of Posen in January of 2017. We love our new location. There are no current plans to expand the building.

Unlike our previous location in Chicago, we are now conveniently located off of I-57 or I-294 and we are really close to I-80. 1) From the north, one can make their way to the Dan Ryan and then get onto I-57 south. Get off at the Sibley Blvd/147th Street exit and turn right (west). You'll have 2 quick lights and the next block after that is called California. Make a right and you'll go a residential street, pass a grade school on your right and we are located at the corner of 145th & California. 2) From the northwest, one can make their way to I-249 and then get off at the 147th Street exit (first exit after Cicero Ave). You'll come down the ramp and make a left onto 147th St. California is the 2nd street after the overpass. It's really quick. Make a left and you'll go a residential street, pass a grade school on your right and we are located at the corner of 145th & California. 3) From South, you'll can take I-57 north and get off get off at the Sibley Blvd/147th Street exit and turn left (west). Once you pass the interstate lights, you'll have 2 quick lights and the next block after that is called California.
